About WebSynergetics

Consider the parts.
Care for the whole.

We help individuals, advocacy groups, associations, community organizations and businesses conceive, build and deploy systems that support their work.

Advocacy & organizational support

People, purpose
and practical systems.

Advocacy and organizational support are central to our approach. We want to help people share knowledge, inform others and coordinate their efforts. For membership organizations, that can include membership management, member services, communications and opportunities for people to participate.

We can start with an idea that needs shaping, a website that needs building or improving, a community that needs developing and supporting, systems that need to connect, or information and processes that have become hard to manage. We work through what is needed, put the pieces in place and help people use and maintain the result.

Our experience

Work with a
wider purpose.

Much of our work has happened behind the scenes. Our founder, Phil Henry, helped lead the effort behind California’s AB 2339 as co-founder and executive director of CalGeo, the California Geothermal Heat Pump Coalition. That effort combined industry organizing, public information and legislative testimony to address barriers to geothermal heat pumps, with the goal of reducing energy use, lowering costs and supporting cleaner energy. The bill became law in 2012.

Our geothermal work has also included online stakeholder surveys used in Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s research and maintaining the Project Negatherm website—practical systems supporting wider industry and public-interest work.

Our working philosophy

Our name and original faceted logo were inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s Synergetics and its attention to the relationships between the parts and the whole. We express our own approach with a practical reminder:

“Pound the nails with
the whole house in mind.”

That means keeping the intended result in view throughout the work: a finished system that serves its purpose, works for the people using it and delivers the benefits we set out to achieve.

The connected work

Services and tools
that work together.

Our services combine consulting, hands-on implementation and ongoing support. Through our product studio, CodeWorksLabs, we develop tools and integrations that grow out of this work.
